- Details of your property, business premises and the pest problem you report.
- Photographs or videos you choose to send by WhatsApp, email or another agreed method.
- Appointment, quotation, treatment, payment, guarantee and customer-service records.
- Communications between you and Hulls Environmental Services.
- Basic technical and security information produced when the website is accessed, such as IP address, browser information and server logs.
How and why we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, provide initial identification advice, arrange inspections, prepare quotations, carry out pest-control services, take payment, provide aftercare, administer guarantees, keep legally required records and protect our business and customers.
Our lawful bases will normally be taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating and protecting a responsible pest-control business. Where consent is the appropriate basis, you may withdraw it at any time.
Photographs, video and case studies
Images sent for identification or recorded as part of a job are used to assess, document and resolve the issue. We will not publish identifiable customer information, a private address or a customer case study without appropriate permission. Please avoid sending unrelated personal or sensitive information in photographs and videos.
Who we may share information with
We may share relevant information with trusted service providers supporting our website, communications, accounting, payments or business administration; with professional advisers, insurers or regulators; or where disclosure is required by law. We only share what is reasonably necessary for the purpose.
If you contact us through WhatsApp or another third-party service, that provider will process information under its own privacy terms. Some providers may process information outside the UK using their own lawful transfer arrangements.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed. General enquiries that do not become jobs are normally retained for up to 24 months. Job, payment, contractual and accounting records may normally be kept for up to seven years after the relevant transaction or service. Records may be kept longer where a dispute, insurance matter or legal requirement makes this necessary.
Your data-protection rights
- Ask for access to your personal information.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Ask us to erase or restrict information where the law allows.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing.
- Ask for certain information in a portable format.
