Birmingham apartment-block investigation
The problem started below the client's flat
Mice were running around inside a client's flat, but the source of the problem was not within the apartment itself. The client lived directly above the communal bin area, so we investigated the building from ground level upwards.
Looking beyond the individual flat found the answer
We were called because another pest-control company had been treating only the client's flat, rather than investigating and resolving the underlying problem. By inspecting the communal bin area and the construction beneath the apartment, we found where mice had chewed into the plaster and building fabric before travelling upwards through connected voids.
Treating only the flat would not address the source. In a multi-occupancy building, the external and communal entry points, service routes and wall voids must be considered as one connected system.
